Great Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. Happy Monday! God has afforded us another opportunity to be better than we were yesterday, a week ago, even a year ago. I pray you’ve purposed in your mind to spend your time living intentionally and with purpose throughout the coming week. How was your Resurrection Sunday? Did you go to church or spend time with your family? If you checked out the video from my blog yesterday I challenged you to resurrect your self-worth. The post before I spoke about “It’s Always Been You” which serves as a foundation to understanding you alone are reason enough to become the best version of yourself.
In efforts of starting your week off with perspective, I recorded audio which I pray will inspire, encourage, and bring about a sense of correction in your current headspace. So often we participate in our emotions. Whether happy, sad, angry, passionate, or overwhelmed. Some of us suppress or overlook those feelings focusing on the task ahead versus our mental state. Some of us have vices to “deal” with the unresolved hurts and pains life has distributed. Then some of us indulge in the emotions and all the effects they spew out at us. I wanted to be the person who tells you, “acknowledge how you’re feeling.” We have to stop ignoring our emotions. Check out the audio below to find out how I am able to acknowledge my emotions without giving them free rein to run rampant in my life. Blessings.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Good Evening my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. It’s Resurrection Sunday. I wanted to bring you a mindful moment video for today’s post. As you are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ think about all the things needed to be resurrected in your own life. Blessings.
Good Morning my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. We’re halfway through the week. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. I wanted to bring you a “Mindful Moment” today. As always, I hope it inspires you and causes you to self-reflect. Feel free to apply where necessary in your own life. Blessings!
In my journey to operating at my highest level of self, I’ve noticed all the channels created to lower my standard of greatness. All around me are mindsets, structures, and people who diminish my understanding of self-worth. Employers provide the amount they feel your position is worth. Family and friends provide insight from the level they’re at themselves. If they have no vision how can they encourage you to soar above your limitations? All my life I was taught things, people, and financial status determined my level of greatness. Now I realize those things have nothing to do with it at all.
When I think about reaching my highest level of self. I think about arriving, understanding, applying, and operating in the fullness of who God created me to be. When I grow in my relationship with God I grow in the discovery of me. Simply put, the more I find God the more I find myself. The first person to know how much we’re worth is Jesus. He is the one who established the best version of us. So our direction, and inspiration needs to come from Him. We won’t find our peace in things or people. Our self-worth can’t be obtained from money. The security we truly desire isn’t provided in our employers. All the things surrounding us are necessary to live but aren’t necessary to have life.
So how do we create an atmosphere of life? We ask Jesus to introduce it to us. We ask Him to show us where we need to place true value. To reveal to us what He had in mind when He formed us in our Mother’s womb. To put to death our old mindsets and concepts of self-elevation. We ask Him to show us how to love ourselves the way He loves us. To teach us how to find everything we’re searching for in Him which ultimately means we find it within ourselves. As we change inwardly we begin to shift our very atmosphere. Instead of praying for God to change our lives we become the change we’re looking for.
I want all of God’s people to get out of our heads and into our lives. The life which is given to us by Jesus Christ. There are so many of us who have chosen to live on a level less than what God had in mind. Searching for happiness and worth in things, people, and finances. Still feeling empty when we’ve acquired them. Understand this, “I create the correct conditions for prosperity. God has given me the mental capacity to invent opportunities for happiness, peace, and wealth for myself. The love I always searched for I found in God. My identity was found in God. My ability to operate at my highest level of self was found in God. God has already given me exactly what I need to become everything He intended me to be. I will NOT be anything less than what was intended.” This is how I speak to myself every day. I am training who I was to become who I am.
My brother’s and sister’s in Christ you are more than you realize. You’re more than the world perceives you to be. You have more greatness placed on the inside of you than you’re aware of. The person God intended you to be will transform your lineage. It will impact the multitude. It surpasses everything and everyone you have ever met. You have to believe it for yourself. Get to know it for yourself. Then become it for yourself. It’s time to level up internally. You are all the reason you need to transform your life. This isn’t about anyone else. It’s about you. It’s time you start doing it for you. Blessings.
Good Evening my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. I’m so glad you’ve tuned in for another Spirit-Care Sunday blog post. I pray you’ve placed it on your To-Do List this week to live intentionally and with purpose. As always I pray this blog inspires you to self-reflect and edit where necessary. Blessings.
I want you to ask yourself, “Who’s it going to be?” Your flesh or who God called you to be? What are you willing to give up for the sake of being everything God created you to be? What does your cost look like? Are you willing to risk it all for His name sake? These are the decisions you will be faced with when you say, “Yes” to God’s will for your life.
If you’re someone who is growing into who God called you to be I want to encourage you tonight. I want you to know God isn’t looking for perfection from us. The only perfect person to walk this earth was Jesus Christ. God is looking for our hearts. He’s looking for our obedience. He’s looking for those of us who get back up when they fall down. He is looking for those who want Him more than we want anyone else. He wants to be our addiction, our coping mechanism, our lover, our friend. He wants to be everything and everyone we put before Him including ourselves.
I had a real conversation with myself this evening. I asked myself a simple question. Who’s it going to be? Is it going to be my thoughts or God? My fleshy desires or God? Alcohol or God? Distractions or God? Unforgiveness or God? Old mindsets or God? Familiar spirits or God? Who’s it going to be? Is who God ordained me to be GREATER than who I know myself to be? Is it greater than anything or anyone I’ve ever experienced? Yes! Yes, it is!
You don’t have to settle for familiarity. Allow God to change you from the inside out. Allow Him to reboot your thought process. Don’t you want to be better than you were yesterday, a year ago, a decade ago? You can’t do it without Christ. There are some relationships you need to give to God. There are some old habits you need to give to God. There are some fleshy desires you need to give to God. So give it to Him. This is your opportunity. This very moment you can choose to give it all to Him. No guilt or shame. He’ll take you as you are. Don’t you know He desires you more than anything else? He loves you more than anyone even yourself.
You have to desire to be who God called you to be more than you desire anything else. You have to crave it and even if you get thrown off track you have time to get back up and move forward. I believe God for your choice tonight. This is personal. Just you and God. Choose Him. Choose who He created you to be. I’m choosing Him right now at this moment. Who’s it going to be for you?
“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”
Good Evening my brothers and sisters in Christ. We’ve made it through the week. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. This week I found myself torn between a few areas I wanted to cover in this post. I felt inspired to completely change what I originally was going to write about this evening. In the realm of sudden inspiration, I pray that whoever this is for you are also inspired. Blessings.
What makes you feel good? Is it winning a game? A promotion? Is it when he or she expresses their admiration for you? Where do you seek validation? For me, I sought validation in relationships. My relationships were the places I found value. How I made people feel made me feel worthy. It made me feel important. Needed. Desired.
So you can imagine when my relationships diminished I lost a part of me. Why would this person leave me? I gave them all of me. I would spend days and nights crying, depressed, mourning the death of where I once placed my value. Not realizing I was searching for a person to introduce me to the beauty God created in me. Isn’t it amazing we will spend our entire lives looking for love, peace, validation, and stability in everyone and everything except Jesus Christ? We will pass up opportunities because we don’t have a title associated with our name. Even though God is the one who opened the door for the opportunity regardless of our lack of a title. Why are we so consumed with the approval of others? Why do we thirst for acceptance from people when God has already accepted us?
I can remember the times I cried out to God asking Him why no one loved me. It wasn’t until I grew in my relationship with Jesus when I understood it wasn’t the fact that people didn’t love me. It was the fact no one loved me as God did. That was the “Aha Moment.” All those years I was looking for my value in relationships I was really limiting my value. As much as we might love someone. No one can see into you as God can. No one knows your innermost thoughts as God does. No one feels the depths of your pain like God. No one knows your desire’s like God does. Most importantly, no one knows how wonderfully you were made like the one who made you. We will love, but we will never feel love the way God loves us.
I spent most of my adult life misplacing my value. Searching for fulfillment in relationships, alcohol, jobs, and school. Never finding what I was really searching for until I found God. When I found Him I found myself. I found I was stronger than I thought I was. I found I didn’t have to return to the people or things which hurt me. I found I could forgive myself for my past ignorance. I found peace. For the first time in my life, I found value within myself and no one had to give it to me. I was good enough all by myself.
This week I challenge you to write down where you’ve placed your value. Is it in titles, accomplishments, designer labels, relationships? After you’ve written them down I want you to ask God to show you how to find your value in Him. Blessings.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Good Evening my brothers and sisters in Christ. We are at the end of one week and the beginning of another. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. I had the pleasure of being one of the speakers at, “There Is Beauty In The Vision” women’s event yesterday. It was truly refreshing for those who attended. I believe the event sparked an activation for everyone there. It’s amazing how powerful you feel when you’re connected to the right people. In light of the women’s event, we’re going to talk about “The Power of Relationships.” As always I pray this post inspires you to self-reflect and make adjustments as needed. Blessings.
Relationships are defined as, the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected. We have relationships with our spouses, children, parents, friends, careers, ourselves, and God to name a few. In retrospect, some of us may have unhealthy relationships with some of those same people. Regardless, of the condition of our relationships, the influence is still powerful. Our relationships teach us to be loving, caring, dependable. Sometimes they teach us to hate, self-sabotage, or operate in sin. Our relationships can easily grow or kill us.
Relationships are so important even Jesus Christ himself desires it from us. So much so, if we don’t have a relationship with Him we won’t make it into the kingdom of Heaven. It was my lack of relationship with my parents growing up which activated a spirit of rejection. My childhood relationship with molestation which introduced me to homosexuality. My abusive relationship with men which activated spirits of substance abuse and self-medicating. It was my lack of relationship with Jesus Christ which gave the enemy free range to deposit whatever he wanted. My relationship with sin introduced me to selfishness, greed, lust, perversion, mental anguish, destruction, doubt, fear, torment, and disillusionment. It was my relationships that tore me down. However, when I fully gave my life to Jesus Christ it was the relationship with Him that built me up.
Maybe you’re like me. Someone who struggled through life trying to grow in the midst of unhealthy relationships. Not realizing some of those relationships we’re killing my hopes, dreams, aspirations, vision, growth, and purpose. Some of you have relationships with the hurt from the lack of connection you had with loved ones. Killing yourself with the ideas of them not being there for you as you’d hoped they would be. Don’t you know you have access to someone who will always be there for you?
When I started growing in God I was able to pull up the roots of every relationship sent to demolish me. Every seed deposited inside of me growing up had no choice except to come up and come out. I grew in the Power and Authority which was given to me from my relationship with Jesus. I was able to see the spirits behind those who afflicted me. I was able to reject their attacks. It is my relationship with Jesus which made me realize I didn’t have to hold onto the mental bondage of my past. I’ve been delivered and have the strength to freely share with the world what I once struggled with is no longer a struggle of mine. It was my relationship with Jesus Christ that showed me how to love me unconditionally. It showed me how special I truly was to my Father, God. It introduced me to a life filled with healing, deliverance, overflow, wealth, peace, power, focus, meaning, love, compassion, and purpose. The Power of my relationship with God completely transformed my existence.
If you’re someone who has lived a life full of unhealthy relationships I challenge you to no longer walk with them. Take a stand for you today. No longer will you willingly participate in your destruction. No longer will you allow demonic spirits working in others to deposit seeds into your mind, body, and spirit. The first step is choosing God. Make your relationship with Him your priority today. He wants your heart. Give it to Him and I guarantee you’ll never spend another day POWERless. Blessings!
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us,who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Good Evening my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. We’ve made it through the week. Glory be to God. It’s Self-Care Sunday here on Mindful of Me Moments. This past week I’ve been flooded with so many revelations from the Holy Spirit. I was inspired to share one of those revelations with you for my Self-Care Sunday post. As always I pray it encourages you and causes you to self-reflect as needed. Blessings.
“Your only competition is yourself!” How many of you have heard this quote before? It wasn’t until recently I was able to interpret this quote differently. Instead of taking you on a journey of my discovery I’m going to dive right into what the Lord shared me with. He said, “Your only competition is yourself because you are in a constant state of competing with your thoughts.” Our thoughts are what cause us to be fearful. Our thoughts tell us they won’t choose us for the job. Our thoughts tell us no one will read the book we aspire to write. Our thoughts will tell us to quit our pursuit because we’ll never reach our goals. It’s our thoughts that we compete with way before we compete with another person. The enemy places doubt in our mind which in some cases is what stops us from pursuing our purpose.
It’s our thoughts where we find our greatest competition. If you’ve ever talked yourself out of an opportunity then you’ve lost the battle with your thoughts. So how do we win against our competitor?
The word of God says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
How do we renew our mind? We get in God’s word. When you find yourself fearful or doubtful you counterbalance it with the word. “God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.” This tells me that whenever the enemy attacks our thoughts we are equipped. We have the power over whatever it is he’s saying. We don’t have to fear what we love. Our minds should not be frantic because the word says it’s of sound.
Mindful Moment: In the greek “sound mind” has a two-part meaning. The compound word is “Sophroneo” which is sodzo and phroneo together. Sodzo means to be delivered. Phroneo means a person’s total frame of thinking. God is literally saying in his word despite what we’ve been through, what we face, and what we hear. OUR MINDS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED. So stop going around saying you’re crazy, you can’t make it, something has to give. The word of God says, your mind has already been delivered. Don’t allow the enemy to take you places in the mind you’ve been delivered from.
We have to understand there’s nothing in the world we can’t obtain. Our ability to make a mark in our chosen industry has nothing to do with how over saturated it may be. Our thoughts will limit our reach every time if we allow it. I encourage you to adapt the mentality I have when my thoughts are competing with me. I simply remind the enemy, “You won’t outwork me. You’re not my competition. I’ve already won. You’re under my feet. I have dominion over you. My mind is sound. It’s already been delivered. Not even you can get in the way of my pursuit to my purpose.”
Fill yourselves with God’s word. Find those scriptures that counteract what your thoughts are saying. Remember, people of God. We aren’t competing with others. We’re competing with our thoughts. Blessings.
Some of us have been in relationships with people or things that cut off our ability to have a voice. Feeling like no one hears us. Being taught to be quiet about things that have happened in our past. Being ridiculed by someone when we speak. Giving power and authority to our negative thoughts which bring silence. Being fearful to say what God has shown us. Scared to tell someone when we need help. Taking verbal abuse from others. Allowing those around us to speak death in our lives. Worrying about what people will think if we open our mouths to praise Jesus.
Don’t you know there are life and death in the power of the tongue? Your gift is in your voice. I don’t know who I’m talking to, but I hear the Holy Spirit. If you could just speak with your mouth your circumstance would change.Your silence will be the thing that welcomes hinderance if you don’t start speaking.
You have to know our voices have power. Think about this… Our God in the book of Genesis created the heavens and earth with His VOICE. He SPOKE it and it existed. If we were made in His image and likeness. Wouldn’t He give us the same ability to speak something and it then exists? The problem is we don’t believe the power God placed inside of us. We have too much doubt and fear. Even though the Bible tells us, those aren’t spirits of God.
My brother and my sister in Christ. It’s time to speak up. You shall have what you say. If you say nothing you will have nothing. If you speak doubt and fear you will continue to have doubt and fear. If you repeat the negativity which was spoken over your life you will cultivate it. The enemy will continue to poison your purpose if you don’t start speaking life. Your healing is in your ability to speak it. Your breakthrough is in your ability to speak it. Your deliverance is in your ability to speak it. There are visions God has given you that have never left your mind. And He’s saying, “If you spoke what I showed you over your life you would activate it. Glory! Don’t spend another moment being quiet. It’s time to speak up. Remember, you have a voice. When you speak things exists.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Great Morning my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. This week is coming to a close. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. This morning I want to leave you with a thought. Think about the most outrageous goal you have. Really think about it. For some of us the goal may be to have a globally successful Christian business. Others it may be traveling the entire world or becoming the largest resource for women to find their God given purpose. No matter how far the reach of our goals is know that God’s abilities surpass our grandest thoughts. He reaches places we can’t imagine having access too. If you’ve ever limited the idea of where you can go, who you can be, or the influence of what you can do. I’m here to tell you, STOP LIMITING GOD. He takes us where we can’t go on our own. He already placed the best version of us inside of us. He told us He made us in His image. His word says, “we rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” Which means we came out the womb with authority and influence.
I challenge you to retrain your thought process. When you’re connected to Jesus Christ you’re connected to the ultimate source. There’s nothing too hard for God. Next time you pray do it with authority. Decree and declare (whatever the outrages goal) it’s mine, I shall have it, it belongs to me. Remember, God CAN. Blessings!
Good Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. The Lord has blessed us to see another week. I pray you choose to spend your time living intentionally and with purpose. This morning while I was in prayer the Holy Spirit brought the word “Opportunity” to me. This is my first day back at the office and typically I’m not thrilled about heading into work. Some of you may know I’m transitioning into a full-time entrepreneur in Jesus name. Until it happens I still have a 9-5 job. As I was getting ready to leave the house I kept hearing the word “Opportunity.” I thought what are you trying to tell me, Jesus? What opportunity?
The Holy Spirit said, “Everyday you wake up you have an opportunity. An opportunity to be better than yesterday. An opportunity to go after your goals. An opportunity to grow. An opportunity to walk in your healing. An opportunity to fulfill the purpose God has given you.” Glory be to the Highest. How many times have you crawled out the bed, dreading the day ahead of you? I know I have many times. God is telling us we ought to wake up excited about the OPPORTUNITY we are given every day.
Opportunity means we still have time. We can get it right. We can overcome. It means God still has plans for us. People of God. We woke up with an amazing gift. Opportunity.
Today I urge you to remember this, it’s easy to miss opportunity when we’re focused on adversity. It’s time to shift our perspective. Blessings.
“Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
Hello, my brothers and sisters in Christ. We’ve made it to
the end of the week. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and
with purpose. It’s a very special day for me. March 8th is my
Wedding Anniversary. (Insert Confetti) It’s also the day that my husband and I
met almost a decade ago. Being involved with someone for 11 years you tend to
learn a few things. Through the ups, downs, wins, growing pains, healing, and
BLESSINGS. I’m pleased to say we’re still going. More in love than before. Continually transforming into who God
called us to be for each other every day. For this blog post I’m going to
share an important concept when it comes to marriage. “Purpose Partnership” I know for a fact my husband is my Purpose
Partner placed in my life by Jesus Christ. I pray that our story encourages
those who believe God has placed someone in your life for Purpose. Blessings.
I met my husband (Nolan) March 2008. He took it upon himself to slide into my DMs on Black Planet. Lol. Some of you may remember this old dating site. I would like to say we had an instant spark, but we didn’t. The first month was a little sketchy. Getting in touch with him was hit or miss. At the time I was out of state with one of my mentors. Once I returned to Chicago we finally met. Our first encounter I made him breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, and bacon. It’s safe to say he enjoyed the food, because shortly after we started dating.
We would spend the next year inseparable. During that time a
prophet spoke to us. She told Nolan God said, “You’re her future.” A few months
after that prophetic word we broke up. I moved out of state with my family. We
kept in contact. Spent the next several years as an “on again off again”
couple. We held onto what the prophet
told us, but never took the time to grow in God enough to see the manifestation
of the words he spoke to us. How many times have you let what God spoke to
you lay at the wayside, because it didn’t fit into your timeline? By November
2014 we were back “on.” I flew home to Chicago from Houston to see Nolan for
the holidays. When I left to return to Houston he left with me. By March 2015,
we were married.
I always knew I loved my husband in a way that I never loved anyone else. I couldn’t explain it. I just did. When we met all those years ago I was fresh out of a relationship that left me feeling unable to love. Then I met Nolan. He made me do what I thought I couldn’t do anymore. Open my heart. Even though we were involved for so many years we didn’t really know each other. If I’m to be honest we didn’t know ourselves. We were two people who always wanted to be together, but operated in generational curses, and mindsets. Like many other married couples, we had our growing pains. Two halves trying to be a whole instead of being a whole individually before we got married. Those pains hurt, but they didn’t break us. What they did do was cause us to seek help from the one who told Nolan, “You’re her future.” God!
By March 2018, we decided to give our lives to God. It also kicked
off the discovery of our “Purpose
Partnership.” A Purpose Partner
is not something that you can Google for a definition. What I believe it to be is a person placed in your life that is
directly connected to your God-Given Purpose. They’re CALLED to support,
cultivate, and protect the seed that God has put inside of you. My husband
is my “Purpose Partner.” When we gave our lives and marriage to God we were
able to finally see the beauty of each other through the eyes of Jesus Christ.
We gained clarity in our individual purpose and marriage. We grew in our
knowledge of God and who He made us to be. One of the most important things we
learned was how to be who we needed each other to be. My husband needed things
from me that I wasn’t aware of until I grew in God. There were things that I
needed from him that he wasn’t aware of until he grew in God. We both desired
different things and we couldn’t obtain them the same way. God taught us how to
be there for each other in a way we both could interpret.
Who’s your Purpose Partner? Has God called someone to
support, cultivate, and protect the seed that He placed inside of you? Are you
someone’s Purpose Partner? Are you being who God called you to be in their
life? I had to pray for direction from the Lord about being my husband’s
Purpose Partner. He gave me understanding about my role. I moved out of the way
to let God be God in Nolan’s life. I don’t impose my timeline on God’s timeline
in my husband’s relationship with Christ. I support whatever he desires to do. For
instance, my husband wanted to learn to play the guitar around Christmas. I
bought him 2 guitars. God provided the 3rd from another source. He’s
working on starting a Financial Repair Company. I found courses for him to
obtain his certifications and paid for them. Now he’s certified. I’m his
Purpose Partner. I’m who God called me to be in his life.
To the man who is MY FUTURE. You’re everything I needed. You
help grow me every day. God trusted you to care, love, and protect his
daughter. He’s pleased with you. Thank you for exposing me to a life filled
with kindness, compassion, trust, forgiveness, purpose, and love. Every moment
with you is intentional. I will forever choose you. You lead me as God leads
you. I love and thank you for a wonderful 4 years as Mrs. Nolan. I will forever
be your helpmate.
Good Afternoon my brothers and sisters in Christ. We have entered into a new week. I pray you have purposed in your mind to spend your week living intentionally and with purpose. I’m a day late for Spirit Care Sunday. Technical difficulties, Lol. I posted this short 1-minute reminder on my business Instagram page and desired to share it with my blog family.
One of the books I’m currently writing is all about #RelationshipGoals. There are practical fundamentals that we miss when it comes to establishing our relationship with our Father. I walk you through step-by-step as you’re in your relationship building process with Jesus Christ. This week’s Spirit-Care Sunday I wanted to share one of my tips from the book. That being, “Don’t Let Sunday Be Your Only Time With God.” As always I pray my post will encourage you to self-reflect, and challenge you to come up higher. Blessings.
Good Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. We have made it through the week. Glory be to God! I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. One thing that I love about Yahweh is how He consistently reveals to me the many layers of our relationship. Just when I think I’ve learned all I can learn at this level He stretches me further. As I was sitting at my desk yesterday He told me, “The best version of you already exists. Stop covering it up with what you think is missing.” That part! Wow!
How many times have we talked ourselves out of greatness? How many times have we limited our ability, because we didn’t believe we had the right relationship to grow us. How many times have we suppressed what God placed in us to substitute it with something or someone we thought we were missing? I know I’ve done it time and time again. It reminds me of a concept that I live by when it comes to accomplishing goals. That being, “The only difference between successful and nonsuccessful people is the time they put into their goals.” God told me His people give up easily. Our followthrough is horrible. This is why we have such a hard time seeing He’s already made the best version of us. We won’t seek me long enough to meet that person.
I hear you, Lord. He wasn’t just talking about my siblings in Christ. He was talking about me. I can vividly pinpoint the times that I gave up on God, because of my lack of patience. Believing He must have changed His mind about what He promised me, because it didn’t show up when I thought it would. I didn’t understand He was taking me through my process to prepare me for the promise. I didn’t understand that had He given me the promise before I was ready for it I would mess it up once I had it.
I want to encourage you while you’re on your relationship journey to becoming a better you. EVERYTHING that you need is already within you. God didn’t forget to leave out the essential tools for your purpose. Don’t focus on the Mother or Father who was absent. The best version of you isn’t contingent upon their presence in your life. Never stop pursuing your purpose, because no one has invested in you. God said, “I’m your investor.” Don’t allow your past to conceal the best version of you any longer. GOD believes in what He made. He believes in the seed He planted in us, and we know what seeds do. They eventually grow up and out through the dirt. This is why I’m so closely attached to my brand, “In His Image.” If the word of God says, I’m made in His image. Why would God make something in His image, and not equip it to be great? He wouldn’t. We prevent ourselves from being great.
God wants to introduce you to who He created you to be. No longer can we afford to search for ourselves everywhere else except in God. Remember, the best version of you already exists.
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
Good Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray you’ve been living intentionally and with purpose. For today’s “Mindful Moment” I want to ask you one simple question. What are you afraid of? Often times we count ourselves out before we even put forth the effort to try to accomplish the goal. We spend so much time worrying about failing that we forfeit the opportunity to actually win. In every situation, there’s an opportunity for a win. If you try something new and fail. It’s a WIN. Now you know what’s not for you. If you do something outside of your comfort zone. It’s a WIN. You’ve overcome fear. If your family or friends don’t support your vision. It’s a WIN. Your vision is too big for them to fathom. What’s the worst thing that can happen? You Winning? Don’t allow your doubt or fear to get in the way of your opportunity to WIN. I encourage you to face every moment with a winning mindset. No matter what the outcome is I guarantee you’ll get a win. Blessings.
“When we meet the Master’s mandate (His command) with the minimum we miss the maximum.” ~Bishop Rosie~
Lord, I’m sorry for loving you minimally. I’m sorry for using my obedience to your Word as the extent of my love. I’m sorry for asking so much from you while giving so little of me. I’m sorry for consistently being inconsistent during our intimate moments. I’m sorry for confusing my need for you as my love for you. Forgive me O’Lord. I no longer desire to love you with limits. In Jesus name, Amen.
It’s Spirit Care Sunday here on Mindful Of Me Moments, and I have one simple question for you. How do you love Jesus? Do you love Him with your heart? Your actions? Your obedience? If you’re like me you will say you love Him with everything that is within you. I thought I did until I was challenged with the thought that I was meeting His mandate with the minimum. Throughout the Bible, you will find text references to how we ought to think, speak, behave, pray. This past year was the first time I put my trust in God, and relinquished my way of life for His way. If that doesn’t scream love then what does?
In my own selfish way, I realized my decision to give up my life to live for Christ was for me. I needed to be washed clean. I needed to learn how to love, Tiffany. I needed to be forgiven. I needed healing from my past. I needed to find my identity, and I knew that I could not do that without God. I gave up my antics for me, not for God. I needed Him to fix what I broke. When we think about how much we love Him. We are confronted with our intent. Do we love Him, because He CAN do what we can’t? Or do we love Him for simple being Him?
I sat in church on Friday night, and for the first time in my journey with Christ, I knew I loved Him for what He could do for me. All those nights of crying out to Him. Asking Him to take all of me. Praying for His protection through my healing process. They were all for me. I couldn’t trust myself so I put my trust in the one I knew wouldn’t fail. How selfish of me. This wasn’t a relationship.
It makes me think about my relationship with my husband or my Mother. If either one of them asked me for something I would do it. I would give more than what they asked for because my love for them says they deserve the best. Without them requiring anything from me I stay in a position of servitude. My love shows that I’m accessible whenever and wherever they need me to be. I don’t expect anything in return for my love. I do it because they mean just that much to me. So why didn’t I love Jesus this way? Why would we think God is content with being the only active participant in our relationship? Are you willing to give to God above what’s required?
This is what this post is about. We have to get in a position that we do more than what’s required. Our obedience will no longer be sufficient payment for our love. There’s a lot of people who pay tithes and have no relationship with Christ. There’s a lot of people who help those in need and have no relationship with the Father. There’s a lot of people who give up addictions and have no relationship with Jesus. What we relinquish in the name of the Father is for us. We can’t get what God has for us with it attached to us so we have to get rid of it, but those things have nothing to do with our love for God.
When is the last time you just laid in His presence? When is the last time you were in awe of Him? When was the last time you got on your knees and worshiped Him? How marvelous He is. How glorious are His thoughts? How much of an honor it is for Him to share his son with us. How gracious He is to allow His Holy Spirit to dwell inside of us. When was the time you cried out to Him for just being Him? For loving us in a way that we will never understand? For being willing to take us back when we betrayed Him so many times? When was the last time you did more than what He required you to do?
When we start doing more than what He requires us to do we start to tap into real love. I challenge you this next week to surveillance how you’ve loved God. He wants to take you higher, but you have to come up higher. We’ll never reach the maximum in Him if we continue to do the minimum. Blessings.
Reinvent! This is the word the Holy Spirit gave me to describe what Yahweh was doing in my life. He was “changing me so much so that I appeared to be entirely new.” As grateful and humble as I am for Him doing and continuing to do that in me. I was also anxious. I realized after my last post that I was in this uncomfortable stage in my journey where I gave God just enough room to come in and provide me with the vision to see myself in His image. This past year I made a decision to turn away from my sinful acts and self-indulgence in order to surrender to Yahweh. I spent the year killing my flesh. I willingly gave up coping mechanisms, relationships that had nothing to do with my purpose, mindsets, behaviors, and overall control. My willingness to do those things in the name of Jesus provided the room for Him to wash me clean from my past. How blessed am I the Father loves me this kind of way. You can imagine how many times I cried as He released me from things which once had me bound.
I wrote a poem for “Love Day” last week illustrating this new found person who I have been reinvented into. After I posted the poem I literally spent the following days feeling anxious. I felt lost. It hit me. I arrived at the first stop along my journey with Christ. A point I never thought I would reach. After all these years I finally forgave myself from my past and I no longer associated who I am now with who I once was. When we think about death we typically expect a period of mourning. Death isn’t easy. It hurts. I spent the last year killing everything that knew about myself. Now I had to start over to discover who I really was created to be as a child of God. I was overwhelmed with so much emotion as I came to this realization that I burst out in tears. I didn’t cry because I missed the old me. I cried because I had to live with, speak life too, create content with, and operate in several roles with this person who I knew very little about.
In the midst of this revelation, I spoke to my mentor who asked me, “What’s the word?” She often asks me this question to see if my ears are open at all times in the spirit realm. I simply told her, “Idk.” She followed up the conversation with a word from God. The word being, “What’s the hesitation?” I thought, “Are you kidding me?” After all, I had been through the last year. How was I hesitant? Hours after that conversation I heard from the Holy Spirit. I had given God “just enough” room to do what He had done thus far. I graduated! It was time to move on to the next level. A deeper level in our relationship journey. I found the hesitation. I was back at the place of the unknown. It all made sense. I was scared to lose everything when I made the decision to give my life to God early last year but I trusted Him. My spirit must have felt that I was about to enter into a new level of obedience and trust. It was the same feeling I had last year when I let it all go for God. That’s why I was hesitant. My God!
I had to repent. I was sorry for not trusting Yahweh as I had trusted Him before. I was sorry for limiting what He wanted to do in my life as this new creature in Him. I was sorry for being hesitant to travel further in our journey together. Most importantly I was sorry for not fully embracing the full journey that was ahead of me.
Maybe you’re at this exact place in your relationship journey with Christ. The place where you’re dictating the pace at which you’re moving. Maybe you feel like you’ve had enough obstacles to overcome or that you have nothing else to give. Believe me, I know the feeling but we’re capable of reaching places in God’s strength that we can’t reach in our own. I encourage you to find solace in the two things that helped me this past week. The first thing was a scripture. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” The second thing came from a television show. The lead character simply said, “Don’t give up before the miracle happens.”
My brother and sister in Christ. No matter where you are in your relationship with Yahweh I challenge you to hold on. Let God be who He is. Move out of His way. Don’t grow tired in your well doing. Your miracle is waiting to manifest. Blessings.
Good Afternoon my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray you’ve spent your time living intentionally and with purpose. I wrote this piece on my lunch break today. I know that it’s the day of “love.” I’m sure most of you have made some gesture to a loved one, a friend, Jesus, or yourself. One thing that I love about Yahweh is that He is the epitome of intentional. Everything He does is with purpose. So in the spirit of this “love” day, I was drawn to reflect on how much He loves me. Poetry is my first love when it comes to writing. I don’t share it much but this piece meant something to me. I pray you enjoy it. Happy Love Day. Blessings.
Who is this woman you created me to be?
This creature who I’m learning to love.
I wonder what you were thinking when you weaved me together.
Did you intentionally make me a creative?
Did you say, “Passion” will be in this one?
I wonder if you intentionally made me with dimples and long
If you purposely gifted me with my hands.
Did you mean to make me a “go-getter?”
What about my desire to build women up?
Did you place that in me while I was in my mother’s womb?
How did you find the time to be so methodical in creating
Did you know that I would be in this place right now?
A place of complete submission to you?
Did you know that you would be introducing me to your original
craftsmanship 33 years after her birth?
I can’t imagine how it feels to perfectly form something
that won’t begin developing til decades later.
How loving and patient you are.
The more I think about you the more I am in awe of your existence.
I’m filled with emotion every time I try to conceptualize
Blessed Evening my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray you’ve spent the week living intentionally and with purpose. As you may know it’s Self-Care Sunday, however, I’ve decided to change it to “Spirit Care Sunday.” I was among the many people who were apart of the Bedside Ministry this morning. Lol. Tuning into The Potter’s House by way of Houston. Bishop Jakes spoke from the subject matter of “A Thirst Collision.” I encourage you all to check the sermon out as it has inspired the “Spirit Care Sunday” post for today. As always I pray that this post encourages you to self-reflect and allows you to open your heart to what the Holy Spirit is telling you. Blessings.
I want to start our conversation off with a simple question. What does your spirit need? Your spirit is the nonphysical part of you which is the seat of emotions and character; your soul. If you’re anything like me then this is the first time someone is asking you this question. When we look in the bible there are several texts that reference the spirit. Proverbs 20:27 says, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.”Romans 8:16 says, “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.”John 4:24 says, “GOD IS A SPIRIT AND THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.” I believe it’s safe to say that our spirit needs to, has to, and should desire to be one with Jesus Christ.
So if our spirit needs Jesus then there are some things that we need to do in order to build our spirit man. We understand that coming into a relationship with Jesus requires the death of our flesh. This is why the bible talks about being born again of the spirit. When we are born again we have a new desire not of our flesh but of God. We no longer are controlled by our human inclinations. We have surrendered our spirit to Jesus Christ. Understand, He isn’t interested in fixing our flesh. There aren’t any parts of it that are salvageable. The only way we can get rid of it is if we let it die. This is why you can’t keep holding onto that person or that addiction because those things will kill you before you have a chance to kill them. We are talking about in the spirit. Anything or anyone that keeps you from God is killing your spirit. I don’t know about you but there are some people or something that you need to tell, “You’re Not Going To Kill Me.”
So again, “What does your spirit need?” The first thing that your spirit needs is for your flesh to die.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a” “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
I pray that this quick “Spirit Care Sunday” post has inspired you to rid yourself of anything not like God. Each Sunday I will be posting steps to help you understand what your spirit needs. This is one of many to come. I love you with the love of the Lord. Blessings.
Great Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray you’ve spent the week living intentionally and with purpose. I won’t hold you long this morning I just wanted to share with you something the Holy Spirit shared with me last night. As I was in worship I asked Him what do the people need to know. The Holy Spirit said, “God requires us to give Him all of us, because He gave us all of Him.”
Maybe you’re someone who has struggled with giving God all of you. Maybe you find yourself repeating the same cycle of events that bring you no good. Maybe that thing you can’t seem to shake is your attitude. Maybe it’s your dependency on your job. Maybe it’s your trust in man. Maybe it’s trust in yourself. Whatever the case we serve a God who has already gone ahead of us and paid the ultimate price so that we can have life. There is nothing that we will lose that can compare to what God has already lost when He allowed His one and only son Jesus Christ to be sacrificed.
Remember, the fear you feel to lose it all for the name of Jesus is keeping you from the very thing that will completely transform your existence. Blessings.
Something to watch for – I talk about “How to give God your all” in my new book coming soon. Be looking out for the release of my book, “Relationship Goals.” A beginner guide to building your relationship with God.
Good Morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray you’ve spent the week living intentionally and with purpose. I was reading in the Gospels this morning. More specifically, John 1. Towards the end of the text, we find Jesus preparing to journey to Galilee. He calls, Philip to follow Him. Philip then goes to get Nathanael to whom he says, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Skeptical, Nathanael replied, “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Once they arrived the conversation went like this:
When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.” John 1:47-51 NIV
After reading the text I immediately felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit asking me, “have you ever limited Gods ability?” I can remember times where all I wanted was to know that God was listening to me. Not understanding that He knows all, sees all, and has a plan for my life. Maybe like me, you’re someone who needed healing from their past, control of their finances, or peace. All circumstances that Jesus Christ sees.
The Holy Spirit continued to speak to me. Saying, “What we perceive as hard times doesn’t even qualify as an issue to God.” I can look back over my life and glimpses of the times where I was stuck in my hurt, pain, and loss of identity will pop up. They serve as a reminder that I spent so much of my time focused on how I saw myself and what I was going through when God already knew. Not only did He know me but in spite of my flaws, there were things he wanted to do in me that I couldn’t even begin to imagine.
I believe that sometimes when we spend so long desiring to be healed, financially stable, or just to have consistent peace that’s all we can see. We pray without ceasing for our circumstance to change, for our living situation to change, for our relationships to change. Then we find out that as we seek God more He changes less of those things and more of us.
So how does this all tie together with Nathanael and Jesus? Nathanael believes that Jesus is the Messiah because Jesus sees Him under a fig tree. Guess what? No matter what your prayer is or what you’ve been through Jesus sees you. Jesus then goes on to say, you believe I’m the Messiah because I told you I saw you under the tree? He may be saying to us, “You believe I’m the Messiah because you got that promotion?” That’s not even the beginning of what I can really do in your life. Just wait and see what I’m really capable of doing. Heaven will open up and angels will appear. The God that we pray to over relationships ending, doors closing, and our finances. Is the same God who will open the windows of Heaven. Heaven! While we’re worried about Him blessings us with a new car.
We have to stop asking God the perform a miracle on circumstances that He has equipped us to handle. Not everything we pray about requires fire from heaven. This is why He changes us instead of the circumstance because if He can change us then we can change the circumstance.
God sees you. He hears you. You are significant. So much so that he knows the number of hairs on your head. I challenge you today to change how you see Jesus. Understand there’s more to Him than just helping us which means there’s more to us. God has placed all these amazing talents and gifts inside of you. We have to allow our vision to be more like God. I encourage you to see yourself. Get a good look. Then realize that the God who opens Heaven Spirit lives within you. You’re capable of more than what you think. Stop limiting the capacity of the gift that is Christ Jesus. Remember, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Blessings.
